Job Title: Minister of Music & Youth
Reports To: Teaching Pastor
Position Status: Full Time
Compensation: $45,000 – $55,000 (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)
Job Description:
Logan Elm Baptist Church (LEBC), located in Circleville, Ohio, is seeking a full-time minister of music & youth. LEBC is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and runs between 120 to 150 on Sunday mornings. We affirm the regulative principle of worship and currently sing both traditional and contemporary hymns (e.g., Getty Music, Sovereign Grace Music) accompanied by piano and percussion instruments.
Music Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the teaching pastor to plan weekly, seasonal, and special worship services
- Lead congregational singing during Sunday morning and evening services
- Rehearse and lead the church musicians to play with undistracting excellence
- Rehearse and direct the choir (~16 people) to sing during the Sunday morning service
- Lead and oversee the audio/visual/lighting technician and sound booth volunteers
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to the performance of copyright-protected
music and CCLI licensing - Schedule instrument cleaning, maintenance, repair, and tuning as needed
- Manage and recommend the annual worship ministry budget
Youth Responsibilities:
- Teach the youth of our church how to read, study, and understand the Bible through weekly expositional teaching and small-group Bible study
- Build up the families of our church by supporting, engaging, and partnering with parents in the discipleship of their children
- Disciple the youth of our church to become fully committed to Christ and the local church
- Develop and lead a team of adult youth leaders to assist in teaching, discipling, and counseling the youth of our church
- Lead the youth of our church in gospel-centered outreach and evangelistic opportunities
- Plan, organize, and supervise the youth ministry events and activities
Qualifications:
- Must have a genuine personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Must be a man who meets the character qualifications outlined for deacons (1 Timothy 3:8–13)
- Must be able to affirm The Baptist Faith & Message 2000
- Must be skilled in and committed to expository teaching
- Must have vocal experience and/or training to lead congregational singing
- Ability to read music and understand music theory preferred
- Technical knowledge and aptitude for AVL equipment preferred
- Previous youth ministry experience preferred
- Excellent communication and people skills needed
- Administrative and organizational skills needed
