Who We Are

We are a gospel-centered, Bible-driven church in Circleville, Ohio seeking to exalt the Savior, equip the saints, and extend the kingdom of God.

By gospel-centered, we mean that we seek to unashamedly proclaim and intentionally live out the good news about the person and work of Jesus Christ. For the unforgiven sinner, the gospel provides hope and salvation from the power, penalty, and presence of sin. For the forgiven sinner, the gospel provides growth in holiness and empowerment for ministry and everyday living.

By Bible-driven, we mean that we believe the Bible is authoritative and sufficient for all of life. Therefore, we value expository preaching and seek to be doers of the Word and not just hearers in all aspects of our lives and relationships

Our Distinctives

We are an Elder-Led Congregation

The teaching and example of Scripture are clear that the church should be shepherded, protected, led, and fed by a plurality of spiritually-mature and scripturally-qualified men who are called and gifted by God to the office of elder (Acts 20:28; 1 Tim. 3:2–7; Titus 1:6–9; 1 Pet. 5:1–3). In Scripture, the terms elder, pastor, and overseer (or bishop) are used interchangeably and refer to the same office.

We are a Multi-Generational Congregation

We are blessed to be a congregation that spans multiple generations. We even have some families where the grandchildren, parents, and grandparents all attend. We have a good number of retired couples as well as young children. As a result, we have classes to meet the needs of all ages.

We Value Expository Preaching

Because we believe in the inspiration, inerrancy, authority, and sufficiency of God’s Word, we believe the text of Scripture should control the shape and emphasis of the sermon. It is our general practice to systematically preach through books of the Bible in both the Old and New Testaments.

We are Affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention

Although we are an autonomous, self-governing church, we choose to associate with churches of like faith and practice within the SBC. As such, we send messengers to the annual convention, support the Cooperative Program and state-level SBC initiatives, and give to both the NAMB and the IMB.
